Page Content Cornell University hosts a lot of special events throughout the year from department receptions, club gatherings, weddings, concerts to visiting dignitary speeches. To ensure that these events are designed, planned, and setup safely, Cornell has a team called the Events Management Planning Team (EMPT), consisting of professionals from various departments on campus, including Environmental Health and Safety, who meet to review and give their approval of each event. EMPT members review electronically the Use of University Property (UUP), forms filed by the individuals requesting the use of a University space for an event.
